An unidentified man was killed when his pickup crashed at Whiskeytown Lake. A little after Midnight Thursday morning a 2005 Toyota Tundra was eastbound on Highway 299 when it drifted off the right side just west of Oak Bottom and rolled over down a steep embankment. The passenger, 40-year-old Corey Dill of Colorado, was able to climb out of the wreckage and up the hill to the roadway, where she was helped by a passerby and eventually transported to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The male driver of the pickup was declared dead at the scene. The truck was on its roof, wedged against a tree about 75 feet below the roadway.
