Two men on their way to court in Siskiyou County landed in a lot more trouble after being stopped by the CHP Wednesday afternoon. A Hyundai Tuscon was stopped for a traffic violation on Wicklow Woods near Highway 3, and it was then discovered that 34-year-old Ryan Westbrook of Quartz Valley was driving on a suspended license. The passenger, 32-year-old Zane Cokely of Citrus Heights, had an out-of-state warrant. The two were on their way to court in Yreka for a hearing on a possession of drugs for sale case. The vehicle was searched and drug paraphernalia was allegedly found, so a Siskiyou County Sheriff’s K9 was requested to help with the search. More drug paraphernalia was reportedly found, as well as a concealed revolver, which was forbidden because both men are convicted felons. Further help was requested from other agencies and a search warrant was acquired for Westbrook’s home in Quartz Valley. Three other convicted felons were there, along with 20 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Officials say some of the guns are believed to be stolen and some of them aren’t even legal in California.
