A man has died in a residential fire in north Redding. The call for Redding Fire came at around 2am. The home was a large travel trailer underneath a metal roof located at the corner of Alee Lane and Gopher Road, which is off Beltline Road north of Oasis. It was very difficult gaining access to the home and getting fire engines into the very tight confines. water was also a major issue as hoses had to be stretched about 1200 feet all the way to the other side of Oasis Road, forcing it’s closure. When firefighters arrived they found the trailer to be fully engulfed in fire, which had also spread to a shop building. Once the water supply was secured, the fire was extinguished in about a half hour. Redding Fire Battalion Chief Sean Coleman says they were told that a man was inside but there was nothing they could do about it until the fire was out. The deceased is believed to be the 36-year-old man who lived there. The cause of the fire remains under investigation
