Woman Still Critical From Thursday Head-On With Tow Truck

A woman remains in critical condition after her car was hit head-on by a tow truck on Thursday in Old Shasta. She’s now been identified as 30-year-old Lindsey Privitera of Redding. She was transported to Mercy Hospital Thursday afternoon after rescue personnel extricated her from her Ford Taurus. Privitera had been westbound east of Rock Creek Road when an eastbound flatbed towtruck with a pickup truck on the back came across the double yellow lines onto her side of the highway. Privitera swerved to the left to try and avoid a collision but the tow truck swerved back that way at the same time. The impact pushed both vehicles off the road into about a ten foot drop. The tow truck driver, 71-year-old William Hall Jr, sustained minor left leg pain
