Cal-Fire Will Declare An End To Fire Season On Monday

Fire season is being declared officially over for the area under the protection of the Shasta-Trinity Unit of Cal-Fire. Beginning Monday morning, no permits will be required for residential burning. People still need to follow the guidelines, learn the rules and be sure it’s a burn day before lighting up their piles. During the 2017 fire season statewide, Cal-Fire responded to more than 6,000 wildfires that burned around 505,000 acres. Here in the Shasta-Trinity Cal-Fire Unit there were 196 wildfires that burned 3,243 acres. The Tehama-Glenn Unit and the Siskiyou Unit will also end fire season on Monday.
