Following a death by train in Anderson Sunday night, another man was killed by a train in Cottonwood Monday morning. The second victim was struck at 5:35AM near the Front Street railroad crossing in Cottonwood. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office is trying to identify the victim, who is reportedly an adult male.
At 11:20PM Sunday night the conductor and engineer of a Union Pacific train saw the man lying on the tracks near the intersection of North Street and Highway 273, but they apparently couldn’t stop in time.
