Police Seek Duo Who Robbed Tehama County Liquor Store

Corning Police are trying to track down a pair of armed robbers, according to the Corning Observer. Two men wearing masks and gloves ran into the Liquor Cabinet on Highway 99-W Saturday morning a little before Nine armed with a handgun and what the store owner described as an assault rifle. The owner, Kartar Singh, and a customer were pushed at gunpoint into a storage room by one of the robbers as the other one started emptying the cash register. When another customer walked in, the robber at the counter pointed his gun at him and ordered him to the floor, but he instead turned and ran back out the door. Apparently figuring their time was limited at that point, the robbers fled back out the door with an undisclosed amount of cash and took off in a Chevy Trailblazer. Corning Police investigators learned that the SUV had been reported stolen from Rolling Hills Casino. It’s believed the man arrived at Rolling Hills in a different Trailblazer that was parked nearby. It had been stolen from an Orland car lot. The men were vaguely described as being 5-Foot-6 to 5-Foot-8 and between 180 and 200 pounds.
