A couple of quick moving grass fires broke out Sunday, one in Tehama County and another in Lassen County. The spring fire is 7 miles east of Cottonwood near a shooting range off of Spring Branch Road in the Jelly’s Ferry area. Sunday night it was 30 acres with 90% containment. The River Fire is in the Doyle area east of Highway 395 near the Nevada border. It was declared 100% contained Monday morning at 67 acres. The causes of both fires are under investigation.
