A fatal crash caused the partial closure of Southbound Interstate Five north of Lakehead for a short time overnight. Â At around 1:30AM a Chrysler 200 left Southbound I-5 just north of the Dog Creek offramp and went down an embankment before colliding with a tree. The driver, a 65-year-old man from Red Bluff, was declared dead at the scene. The CHP says there was no sign of drugs or alcohol.
