Parolee Head Back To Prison For Drunken Vehicle Assault

A Redding man has already been sentenced for assaulting another man with his car less than two weeks ago. On the evening of October 10th officers were called to the Oakwood Mobile Home Park on Lake Boulevard. Dustin Clemens said 47-year-old James Nolan had approached him and asked if he could buy drugs. Clemens said he doesn’t sell drugs and was offended by the request, and the two started arguing. Nolan tried to run over Clemens with his car, striking his leg and leaving an abrasion. Nolan then rammed a parked car and caused major damage before driving away. On his way out he tried to run over someone taking a picture of his license plate. While officers were still there, Nolan returned to the park because he lived there. When contacted he admitted to trying to run over Clemens, hitting the parked car, and driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs. His blood alcohol level was .167.  He was treated at a hospital for facial injuries he got from the crash and booked into jail. Nolan, who was on parole from a conviction for evading police, was sentenced Thursday to 4 years 8 months in state prison.
