“Dirt Weed” Adds Years To Jail Sentences

A Tehama County judge has extended the terms of a couple of state prisoners. During a stay at the Salt Creek Conservation Camp, inmate Jesus Casillas was seen by a corrections officer holding a bag of pot up to the nose of inmate Michael Cazares.  Both men then tested positive for Marijuana. Casillas admitted he had found the bag in a trash can, saying someone had thrown it away because it was “dirt weed”. He got 4 years added onto his sentence, while Cazares got an extra 2 years.
