A productive homegrown marijuana operation was dismantled in the Anderson area on Thursday, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. The marijuana team arrived with a search warrant at the Poplar Avenue home of Keo and One Sayavong. The married couple, aged 70 and 71, reportedly were growing pot in their backyard, with 159 plants neatly arranged in long covered rows in various stages of growth for continuous production. Allegedly discovered inside the house were 15 pounds of processed bud packaged for sale along with scales and other evidence as well as 113,000 Dollars cash stashed away. Deputies also seized 2 rifles and a handgun along with ammunition. Keo was arrested for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana, being a felon in possession of guns and ammo, and being armed while committing a felony. Charges against one will be filed later.
