What does 225 Million Dollars feel like? That’s the price tag of the new Antlers Bridge that’ll carry Interstate 5 traffic over Lake Shasta at Lakehead for the next hundred years. Cal-Trans says northbound freeway traffic will likely be directed onto the new bridge starting this Thursday. Southbound traffic is expected to start crossing the bridge sometime next week. Some finishing touches are still being done to the new bridge, and then crews will begin the daunting task of demolishing the old bridge without dropping any of it into the water.
